What is Hexgate Legends?

Hexgate Legends is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) built from scratch for the browser. Two teams fight over a map with lanes, turrets and a base: push down the towers, break the inhibitors and destroy the enemy nexus. There is nothing to download or install; open the page, make an account (or jump in as a guest) and find a match.

The look is pixel art and the combat is tile based, with champions, spells and monsters that come from the Tibia world. The numbers behind the champions follow the MOBA genre, so what you know about items, cooldowns and lane play carries over.

Game modes

• 3v3 - fast matches on a compact map. Positions are Top, Bot and Jungle. Each team bans one champion.
• 5v5 - the classic format on a full map with Top, Jungle, Mid, ADC and Support. Each team bans two champions.

Bots fill empty seats, so a match can start even when the queue is quiet, and a bot takes over your champion if you have to leave.

How a match works

• Pick a champion and a pair of summoner spells, then spend your gold in the shop on items as the match goes on.
• Minions march down the lanes. Last-hit them for gold, trade with the enemy laner and use the jungle camps.
• Champions reach level 15. Each champion has four abilities (Q, W, E and R); the ultimate unlocks as you level up.
• Neutral objectives - the dragons and the Demon - give a strong advantage to the team that takes them.
• Wards reveal the fog of war and pings let your team know where to go.
• Win by destroying the enemy nexus. A typical match lasts around 15 to 30 minutes.

Champions

There are 30 champions, six for each of the five roles: solo lane, jungle, mid, ADC and support. Knights, mages, archers, druids, vampires and more, each with four abilities of their own. Read about every one of them on the champions page.

Progression and rewards

Every match earns experience for your account and in-game currency that you spend on new champions and skins. Everyone who registers during the early access period receives unique Founder skins with a golden aura and a laurel for the five free champions.

Creating an account and playing is free.

Can I play without an account?

Yes, you can enter as a guest with just a name. An account keeps your progress, friends and unlocks.

What if there are not enough players?

Bots fill the empty seats in 3v3 and 5v5 matches.
